Contributing to Hyde magazine while studying helped me push my writing to the next level, especially writing in new areas of expertise.
This notice appeared in Beat magazine in 2016, adapted from copy I created for Focused Entertainment as part of their event marketing. Working with Beat was an awesome crash course in the relationship between publications, branding and copywriting. I drafted several press releases and shorter pieces, many of which were published—see the event announcement on Beat.com.au.
Another item in Hyde promoted a competition held by the Victoria University Theatre Company, where I managed communications (see Backstage for more about this role). It was the first media release I wrote outside of the classroom. I used the techniques I learned to communicate with passion and pride.
